HSBC Screen
Suffusions of coloured light sweep through this fabulous optical illusion. The floating glazed screen is 3 metres high, created by fritted glass either side of a special stippled perspex sheet, into which the light is introduced and selectively released. Extensive prototyping and mock-up exercises were conducted to establish the best size and placement of optical heads to create this completely uniform effect.
